The He family on lake one. July, 9-10, 2016
The four of us paddled valiantly into a stiff head wind. Kui, Ma and Chloe and I were loaded into a Wenona Seneca. It was a load but we moved right along with everyone making a substantial contribution to getting us there. Ma was the grandma and she was 65. Chloe was seven and they both paddled hard from the middle seat. Kui was in the bow and he was good help in keeping the 19 1/2 foot canoe headed down the lake. Camp was made and Kui, Chloe and I had our sights on Pagami Creek. Ma stayed behind to rest. The creek was blooming with thousands of Lotus flowers or as we call them water lilies. It was a nice trip up the creek. We rested at Tory Island. Then headed for camp. Supper was pizza. The weather turned cool and windy. We all went to bed early. In the morning we had pancakes and bacon. We headed back to the landing and only took one rest stop. It was a great trip, and I really enjoyed their company.
